What we believe
As a church our aim is to worship the living God in a way that expresses our unique characteristics as individuals as we gather together to dig deeper into the good news of Jesus Christ.
We believe that we are all created with the ability to experience God’s grace expressed through his Son Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God wants us to come to him, just as we are, but that His desire is for us not to remain that way but to grow into the person he created us to be.
We believe that for those who put their hope and trust in him will experience abundant life here on earth and the wonder of his presence beyond death.
Many members of our Church are known as Soldiers. Each soldier has enter into a specific covenant which is an important event for all soldiers of the Salvation Army. Anyone who wishes to identify with its doctrines and witness publicly that the Salvation Army is both their church and a means of facilitating their Christian service may become an adherent of the Risca Corps of the Salvation Army without entering into the exact terms of the Soldier’s Covenant.
We try in everything we do to value all expressions of devotion to Jesus which are motivated by the love of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit. As a result friends, adherents and Soldiers all play an integral in the life of our church.
